That's a question you'll have to answer for yourself. I do know this, if you say to yourself, "I'll just do it this fall when things calm down," you won't. It's just the way we humans are.

An investment at this time in personal and professional growth is difficult, I understand. I had a mentor that once told me that I should be asking myself the question when I prepare to invest, "Am I worth it?" If you ask it that way, I can't imagine you answering no.

The right time is always now. World class people don't put that off.

It's easy. There are no contracts or long term commitments. It's a month to month agreement. If after the third month you are not getting what you came for, I urge you to leave.

Well, obviously, that's between you and your financial people. As the CEO of You, Inc., Tom Peters' reference from the '90s, you have to look at yourself as the CEO of your future.

If this fits you but nobody wants to invest in you, then you have a decision to make: do I invest in myself or do I find another company to work for who will invest in me?

I'm all for getting your company to invest, because your company will prosper and benefit from who you become. But if that can't happen, then you need to invest in yourself.

I think a better question to ask is, how do I get 10X my return on an investment? That's really the question.

My suggestion is you come in with some massive goals that would turn a 10 into a 100X difference in your income. Then we go about working to accomplish those goals. It's a much healthier way to look at the investment in something like this.
